Me and Paula

Paula Fredriksen is one of my favourite scholars of early Christianity, particularly for the way she places Jesus, Paul and the earliest Christians firmly within their Jewish and Roman worlds. Her writing manages to combine serious historical scholarship with a style that is genuinely enjoyable to read. I’d highly recommend this one for anyone wanting to understand how Christianity developed during its first centuries.
